Nativity Christmas Card
In order to make this card you will need:
Whisper White and Chocolate Chip card stock
Stampin' Trimmer
Big Shot
7.5cm and 9cm Circles Collection Framelits Die
Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder
Hardwood stamp set
Size F clear block
Chocolate Chip ink pad
Stampin' Write markers (in the picture I have used the subtles range)
Step 1: Cutting and scoring card base
Take an A4 sheet of Whisper White card stock and cut it in half length ways, so that you get two pieces of card that are each 10.5cm x 29.7cm. Score one of them half way along the long edge, so at 15cm.
Step 2: Cutting and scoring pop out piece
Make a small mark half way along your second piece of card stock, at 14.9 cm or 15cm, so that you know where to line up your framelit. Using your 7.5cm framelits die, and your Big Shot, cut out a circle in the middle of this piece of card stock. Save the circle that you cut out, you will need it later.
After you have cut out the circle, score the card all the way along at 15cm. Turn the card over so that it is facing the other way in your Stampin' Trimmer, and score the card at 7.5cm and 22.5cm. You are turning the card over because the card needs to be folded in a concetina fashion, so the score marks need to face in opposite directions.
Step 3: Cutting your accent pieces
Cut out two brown pieces of card stock that are 9.5cm x 14cm. Cut out one white piece of card stock that is 10.5cm by 14cm.
If you haven't used a Stampin'Trimmer to trim your card stock before, or if you haven't use the stamps and ink pads before (see Steps 5 and 6), then have a look at my instructions titled Stamping and Cutting.
Cut a 9cm circle in the middle of the white piece of card stock using your 9cm framelits die and your Big Shot. Save the circle you cut out, you will need it later.
If you haven't used the Big Shot and the framelits dies or the embossing folders (Step 4 below), then have a look at my instructions titled Using your Big Shot to cut or emboss.
Step 4: Embossing your white accent
Take the white accent piece that you just trimmed and put a hole in. Using your Woodgrain embossing folder and your Big Shot, put the impression onto your white card stock.
Step 5: Stamping your wood accent on your brown card stock
Using your hardwood stamp, chocolate chip ink pad and clear block, stamp both pieces of brown card stock. Also stamp two scraps of white card with the brown hard wood stamp.
Step 6: Stamping your All Ye Faithful stamps
Using your All Ye Faithful stamp set, stamp each of the greetings onto a scrap of white card stock using the chocolate chip stamp pad.
Stamp your characters onto their corresponding spots on the card base, that is the long pieces of card.
Step 7: Colour in
Colour in your characters using the Stampin' Write markers. You won't see streaks in the picture once the ink has dried so don't worry if you are seeing streaks when you are doing the colouring in.
Step 8: Stamp out the stars
Using your star punch, punch out the stars that you want to use to decorate your card.
Step 9: Stick your card together
Stick the pieces of your card together.
Stick the white accent you created at step 4 to the long piece of white card with teh hole in it, so that hte accent is on the same side of the card as the characters.
Then stick this long piece of white card that does not have the hole in it, by applying glue or double sided tape to only the left most and right most quarter of the card (that is the quarters behidn the characters). Stick only those quarters of the concetina piece to the main part of the card.
Stick your stars above the shepherd and the three kings.
Stick your greetings to the white card stock with the hard wood stamp.
Stick the O Come All Ye Faithful greeting to the bottom left hand corner of one of the pieces of stamped brown card stock, and stick any stars on that you are using to decorate. Stick this card stock to the front of your card.
Stick the larger white circle to the other piece of brown card stock, and stick the greeting to the top left hand corner of that piece. Stick this card stock to the back of your card.
