Shepherds Christmas Card
In order to make this card you will need:
Whisper White, Pacific Point and Tempting Turqouise card stock
Stampin' Trimmer
Big Shot
7.5cm and 9cm Circles Collection Framelits Die
Boughs and Berries Textured Impressions Embossing Folder
Size E clear block
Pacific Point and Tempting Turqouise ink pads
Every Blessing stamp set from Stampin' Up!
Step 1: Cutting and scoring card base
Take an A4 sheet of Whisper White card stock and cut it in half length ways, so that you get two pieces of card that are each 10.5cm x 29.7cm. Score one of them half way along the long edge, so at 15cm.
Step 2: Cutting your blue accent pieces
Cut out two blue pieces of blue card stock, so that the Pacific Point card stock is 9.5cm x 13.5cm, and the Tempting Turqouise piece is 10.5cm x 14cm.
If you haven't used the Stampin Trimmer before, or the Stampin Up stamps (see Step 5), you might like to have a look at my instructions, Stamping and Cutting.
Step 3: Cutting holes in your accent pieces
Cut a 9cm circle in the middle of the Pacific Point (darker blue) piece of card stock, using your Big Shot and your 9cm framelits die. Save the circle that you cut out, because you will need this again.
Using your 7.5cm framelits die cut a circle in the middle of the Tempting Turquoise (lighter blue) piece of card stock. Save this circle as well.
If you don't know how to use your Big Shot and framelits die, or an embossing folder (see Step 4), have a look at my instructions Using your Bigshot to cut or emboss.
Step 4: Embossing your blue accent
Take the Pacific Point (darker blue) accent piece you created in Step 3, and using your Boughs and Berries embossing folder and your Big Shot put the impression onto your blue card stock.
Step 5: Stamping your design
Using a piece of white card that is approximately 10cm x 10cm, stamp the shepherd image first in Tempting Turqouise and then in Pacific Point blue. Don't stamp them exactly one over the other or you won't get the highlight effect, if you just aim to roughly line it up then you should be slightly askew and get the desired affect.
Step 6: Create your greeting
Choose your desired greeting from teh stamp set and stamp it onto a scrap of white paper and trim it down. Taking the blue circles you saved earlier, cut some accent pieces out of those that are slightly bigger than your greeting, and stick them to the back of the greeting.
Step 7: Putting your card together
Now stick all of the pieces of your card together.
Take your piece of white card stock with the image, and put a dot of liquid glue in the four corners on the front of the piece of card. If you put too much glue the card will have a bow or bubble in that part.
Place the Tempting Turquoise (lighter blue) circle over the top of your image, and move it around until you have the image positioned where you want it inside the circle (this is why you use liquid glue so you can shuffle the piece).
Put four dots of liquid glue on the front in the four corners of the Tempting Turquoise piece of card stock. Place the Pacific Point (darker blue) piece of card over the top, and move it around until you have it positioned where you want it.
Using double sided tape or liquid glue, stick all of this to the front of your card and stick the greeting inside of your card.
