What are flex points and how do I get enough?
If you are a new demonstrator you have probably heard of flex points, but you are wondering how you will get enough of them to redeem them, when the 'cheapest' thing on the flex points shopping list is 2,200 points and you are not going to accumulate 2,200 CSV in your first year. The short answer is yes you can, read on. But, first things first, what are flex points?
What are flex points?
The official answer is:
The Flex Account is a rewards program that focuses on your efforts in personal sales, recruiting, personal title advancements and direct team member advancements.
In short, you redeem points for 'free' stuff.
Here are some of the ways you will gain points as a new demonstrator:
1 point for every 1 CSV (so 1,200 a year for a Bronze demonstrator)
2,000 points for your first anniversary as a demonstrator
5,000 and 10,000 points through the quick start program (where you need to sell 900 CSV within three months and 1,800 CSV within 18 months)
If you reach bronze elite then you get 5,000 points when you progress, and then 1,500 points twice a year in April and October each year
5,000 points in the Ready, Set, Start! program
So even if you just meet your CSV requirements to keep your Bronze status, and complete your Ready, Set Start! program and make it to your anniversary you will get 8,200 points.
If you also make Bronze Elite part way through your first year you will get 5,000 points when you progress, have some extra points from your CSV (600) and 1,500 points every six months.
Once Ready, Set, Start! finishes (if it finishes) you will still get 3,200 points in your first year. Bear in mind you won't be able to spend all of these at once because flex points run out every October.
How do I check my points?
You need to log onto your demonstrator website, click on Business Resources on the menu at the top right, choose 'My Reports'. Scroll down the My Reports screen and click on 'Access my Reports' and a new screen will open. In the middle of the top of your new screen click on Flex Reports. Now you can see how many points you have.
Once you know how many points you have, and want to 'go shopping' look to the right of your screen, about a third of the way down, and click on 'My Flex Account'. With the 8,200 points you could even get some more expensive things, like the 40 CSV product credit (worth 5,500 points) but remember this credit is non commissionable, that is, you still get free Stampin Up products but they don't count towards your quarterly CSV requirements. I also love the scrap bins (two for 3,000 points).
So yes it is worth checking your flex points, even if you are a new hobby demonstrator, because you will get enough in your first year to buy yourself some free catalogues and another prize.
